Always a tried and true shape, the hexagon is popping up everywhere. The hexagon combines geometry with a tad bit of softness thus it is a shape appealing to both men and women.
It is structured, but not harsh which is why it is perfect for textiles, jewelry, tile and more…
While they have always had the small scale hexagon tile in their product line, Dallas based tile manufacturer, Dal Tile, recently introduced a hexagon ceramic series with a large scale that makes this shape less busy and more impactful. Even the Seattle based jewelry designer, Sarah Loertscher, has played with the scale of a hex shape with some fabulous results in her jewelry line.
I have absolutely jumped on this bandwagon with some hex jewelry and I am proposing this shape on several of my interior surfaces projects.
I’ve been hexed. Have you?
